Self and Conditioning

We have been conditioned through out our life, one way or other. Education, culture, social values etc etc are all conditioning our mind. Any negative we come across in our childhood has high value in conditioning us. The negatives include fear, hatred, teasing, disgust etc. Abuse is direct and obvious conditioning. Whereas there are so many other conditionings which are subtle and indirect. Without all these conditionings all human beings are same. Basically there is no true SELF, all have is the conditioned SELF only.

Guru

I can hear about cooking from my mother, who is one of the best cooks and I can read from many cooking books and I can repeat my hearings and readings in a spectacular manner. But, without being trained by my mother personally, I cannot cook matching my mother. Similarly, for the spiritual practice the teacher of guru shows the practical ways to us. Though we might have read 1000 books and heard 1000 discourses from the saints, we have to be with the Guru or teacher to experience.

The guru or teacher just awakens The Teacher or Guru within us. The real teacher and learner is inside us. The external guru is only a catalyst.

Let my future external Guru and the Guru within me remove the veil and show the ultimate truth.
